Editpipe 6.0 is fully interfaced with the latest version of PIPESTRESS 3.6.0.
Network licenses
Two types of licenses are now available:
Personal and network licenses may coexist freely in the network.
There is a clear distinction between Editpipe 6.0 program files (executables, ...) which are necessarily located in Editpipe installation directory, and user's modifiable files (library_si.xml, tables_si.rtf, ...) the location of which can be freely set.
This makes it possible to run Editpipe on a client computer even if Editpipe is not installed on it ! It suffices to launch the program 'pipeman.exe' located on a remote computer where Editpipe has already been installed. There is only one prerequisite: the WIBU-Key drivers shall be installed on the client computer too.
DirectXML and the XML library
Data about fitting dimensions, valves, materials, ... are now stored in a XML library file that can be easily edited and completed according to user's needs.
DirectXML is the integrated tool than gives access to the XML library.
The Easyfree editor has been revised in depth. New important features have been implemented:
The layout of the stress report tables can be customised using any word processor such as Word. The user can now change the header and footer text, the column widths, etc. The user can even decide which fields will be displayed in the tables and in which columns.
Large PIPESTRESS models can be split conveniently into several input files by means of the INCL card - for example one file for load cases, another for material, geometry,...
This useful feature is now fully supported by Editpipe.
Errors and warnings are simultaneously displayed in a tabular form (with direct jump to the faulted lines in Editpipe) and in the original '.err' file.
The Winhelp help format (.hlp) is no longer supported by Microsoft in its latest Windows Vista OS. It has been therefore necessary to translate the whole help file into a more modern and powerful format: the compiled HTML format (.chm).
Moreover, the DST's PIPESTRESS HTML help files are now directly accessible from Editpipe and in particular the Easyfree editorthanks to a dedicated Help browser.
